Event Producers gets the job done. With just 6 weeks to plan during the crazy time that was both Super Bowl and Mardi Gras 2013, we were able to deliver a successful event for Jotun, a Norwegian based paint company. To do this, we worked closely with New Orleans Convention Company (NOCCI )and were able to create an event that would celebrate the grand opening of the new Jotun Paint manufacturing facilities, at the facilities, in Belle Chasse, LA.
The client's request was for an industrial, modern, and fun design that would be sure to impress the Jotun Board of Directors, employees and key customers. The final design hit the nail on the paint can. Inspired by the industrial elements we observed on the grounds during our initial walk though, we fashioned a design that utilized industrial elements in unconventional ways. For example, we transformed silver paint cans into two separate lighting clouds that hung over the dining tables. We also used IBC shipping totes and illuminated them with LED lights to create a walkway into the tent. We used walls of stacked pallets that were backlit to create an outdoor lounge area and trendy chalk art was also incorporated into the design. We booked both Norwegian and New Orleans performing artists that included: Frikar Dance Company, AkselKolstad, aerialist KalaraSzalanOrbeak, Louisiana’s own Amanda Shaw, Rockin' Doopsie and the Zydeco Twisters.
Planning an event for 300 on the grounds of an active manufacturing plant has its challenges, but also contributed to the success of this event. Although construction on the brand new manufacturing and distribution facility was complete, there were other parts of the facility were still under construction and load in was restricted to just a few days before the event as to not disrupt the plant operations. We worked around thunderstorms throughout the load in that lasted all the way up to minutes before the start of the event. The event looked amazing, was a huge success, and exceeded our client’s expectations. Bjorn Abraham Bache, President at Jotun Paints wrote, "I do not know how to say this in words in an email, and trust I will have an opportunity to meet you all in person and express my sincere THANK YOU at some point in time soon. I know we probably have been a pain in the from time to time during planning and execution of this event, which is nothing personal, only the urge to make this exactly the way we have been dreaming of. You have all done a GREAT and FANTASTIC job. All the guests were overwhelmed when they came into the tent and many have expressed I could not believe we were in a tent!! YOU made our DREAM come true!!!"
